The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC) has come a long way since its inception in 1920. Even though The Foundation has grown and adapted to meet the changing needs of the communities that we serve, it still reflects the basic mission of its founding – to preserve and increase resources so that future generations will have the means to address and solve societal challenges.
As one of the oldest community foundations in the country, TFEC is more relevant to our communities than ever before. The foundation’s expertise in managing charitable funds has helped its assets grow from $5 million in 1994 to more than $65 million today, all for charitable benefit of the community. In 2012, almost $4.5 million in grants were made in support of charitable programs and scholarships. More than 25 new named funds were established in 20012, bringing the total under management to more than 750. We also added 15 new charitable projects in 2012, for a total of more than 50. We manage more than 40 charitable trusts, and we provide a range of administrative and management services to other foundations and nonprofit organizations.
We are a leader in working with individuals, corporations, governmental bodies, nonprofit organizations, and private foundations, helping them to achieve their philanthropic goals with confidence and sophistication. We encourage you to explore the many aspects of TFEC, and the ways in which we can help you to reach your charitable goals.
